Good morning Jesus, lead guide and direct my steps today.
“Do not be afraid of them, for nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing is secret that will not be made known. What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light, and what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Arenʼt two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Fatherʼs will. Even all the hairs on your head are numbered. So do not be afraid; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
“Whoever, then, acknowledges me before people, I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever denies me before people, I will deny him also before my Father in heaven. (Mathew 10:26-32)
As we move on from Election Tuesday and the comments and predictions from both sides of the aisle continue on this passage by Jesus speaks to us now. It is a reminder that we are not to fear any man or woman, but we are to fear God. We are not to put our trust in any person, but we are to put our trust in God. We are not to place our hopes in the hands of any human, but we are to place our hope in God’s hands. We are not to be swayed by a leader that can kill our mortal body, but we are to be swayed by God who bring life to our eternal souls. I want to remind you that despite the changes in government officials who were elected Tuesday, Jesus is still Lord. He was Lord yesterday, He is Lord today, and He will be Lord over all your tomorrows.
My family, as you walk out your door this morning walk out with the full understanding that Jesus is Lord over every situation you enter into, every place you go, and every person you encounter. And once you completely embrace and understand that, the rest is gravy! Please pray the same for me. God bless you my friends!
