Lord’s Jesus I spend this quiet time with you this morning seeking your presence to guide my thoughts and steps and directions throughout my day
Today is the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that took place at the Twin Towers in New York, Ny, the Pentagon, and another downed plane. The attacks that took over 3,000 over lives. and and impacted thousands of families, our country, and the world. We remember and pray over those families that lost loved ones in the tragedy. That day is etched in my mind: the shock, horror, chaos, madness, anger… so many laters of emotions involved.. Lord have mercy, That day forever changed our views and reality of the world we live in today. Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.
We also are reminded that nothing is guaranteed in this life. As God’s word tells us:
“Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit." Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that." But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil.17 Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin”. (Jam 4:13-17)
Those that died, were injured, or affected by 911 were engaged in their normal day of business and making a profit, running errands, having lunch with a friend, and in the middle of their normal routine when something unimaginable happened; the millions to one odds of a jet crashing into the buildings they were in.
Nothing is guaranteed today.
All of today is a gift.
My family, I join you in prayer today over all the lives that were lost and everyone impacted by the tragic events of 91. I also pray today you embrace the amazing gift of today. Don’t delay doing the next right thing: of telling someone your sorry, you love them, your glad their in your life. Don’t delay sharing with someone who does not know Christ the love of Jesus who are just one event away from a Christless eternity. Please pray the same for me. I love you all who have crossed my path in life and pray God blesses you my friends!
